For over twenty five years, the Chabad Jewish Center has been a home away from home for the Jewish communities of Needham, Dedham, Dover and Westwood. Through countless hours of celebrating, learning, and connecting, we have become more than just a community: We are a family.

Now our vibrant, diverse, and ever-growing family needs a new home. A place where every person, no matter their background or affiliation, feels comfortable to explore their heritage and faith. A place to strengthen their Jewish identity and knowledge. Join us as we embark on a mission to build our shared Jewish future.

The Chabad Jewish Center is the go-to destination for all things Jewish. From meaningful synagogue services to delicious Shabbos meals, from lively kids’ and teen events to fascinating adult classes, from holiday celebrations to hands-on educational experiences.

Our current facility, which we purchased over twenty years ago, no longer meets the growing needs of our community. That leaves us with one option: Expansion!

Why Now?

A few years ago, our Center was deliberately set on fire by a neo-Nazi who sought to destroy us. Instead, he ignited within us an unshakable resolve - to rebuild bigger, brighter, and stronger than ever.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe taught that the Jewish response to darkness is light.

Our response to the arson attack and the recent rise of antisemitism is to build a visible living
symbol of Jewish life and celebration.

With G-d’s help and the generosity of several key benefactors, we purchased a beautiful property
on Central Avenue in Needham in August 2023 - mortgage-free, for over $1,200,000. After
months of careful planning, we are ready to build!

And we cannot do it without you.

The Vision

We now have an extraordinary opportunity: to create a sacred space where spirituality becomes tangible, fulfilling the timeless commandment to build a dwelling place for  G-d. That sacred space will permeate every room of the new Center for Jewish life.

But this isn’t just a building - it’s a home.

Home is where the aroma of freshly baked challah greets you at the door.
Home is where the sound of laughter can be heard echoing down the halls.
Home is where you know you belong - and will always receive a warm welcome.

Now imagine a home that feels just like that, but is a spacious, and beautiful destination. The new Chabad Jewish Center will merge the coziness of home with the functionality of a full-service community center.
